Winchester Frederick County Conservation Club, Inc. October 6, 2021 Meeting Minutes Officers present: Jim Osborn, Steve Hunt, Marshall Shiley, Rich Sankovich 1. Meeting opened with Pledge Of Allegiance led by Jim Osborn 2. Secretaries minutes for September 15, 2021 membership meeting read and approved by membership. 3. Treasurers Report : September 1st checking account Balance was $63,056. September 30 checking account balance was $71,485. Major payouts for month were utilities, $4,760 Picnic expenses, $1,280 MMG insurance, , $4,441 Philadelphia Liability Insurance, $437 maintenance, $1,099 transfer to scholarship CD, $383 Tractor payment. Income was $21,531, which included dues, shelter donations and Clay Bird shoots. Scholarship on hand balance is $10,837. Club CD value is at $503. Membership approved Treasurers report. 4. Six new members sworn in at meeting. 5. Liability Insurance requirement changes this year discussed at length. Philadelphia Insurance is current carrier and will require Release – Indemnification – Hold Harmless agreement waivers to be signed by Members bringing spouse, children and or grandchildren to shoot or hunt on WFCCC properties, and by any Non-Member who is a guest shooting at Clay Bird and or Still Target Ranges. Release form to be reworded to include and type of Firearm or Archery equipment and will need to be reviewed by Club Legal Counsel when completed. Jim Osborn looking for copies of other Clubs forms before Lawyer contact for final review. 6. Use of Club Trap shoot equipment request by member and others read to open membership and motion made and vote taken which denied request. 7. The future of club was discussed as pertaining to younger members and a reason to visit club. Mike Strawderman Sr. proposed some type of Jungle Gym play area be installed. Jim Osborn asking for type and pricing in future before more discussion is held. 8. Dues collected since June 15th for 2022 memberships as of 10/5/21 - $63,990. Scholarship Raffle tickets sold - $3,545, New members for 2022 – 116 to date. Current 2022 memberships processed as of 10/5/21 is 1152. 9. 50-50 raffle at meeting - $48 to winner, $48 to scholarship. Winner donated all back to scholarship. 10. Annual Conflict of Interest Statements given to each Officer and BOD member at meeting to review and sign. All others to be mailed to BOD members not in attendance. 11. Trout stocking to be done at 10:30 am Saturday October 9, 2021 – 300 Rainbows. Lake water temp was 71 degrees and Dissolved oxygen at 10 ppm before meeting. 12. Derek Ketkic, DWR Conservation officer addressed all members. Updates on early and late deer season given. Notice that all deer, turkey and bear check-in is now on line or phone in – No More Check Stations, Bonus tags for deer must be obtained after 5th deer harvest by those who are eligible to hunt without a purchased license, and Bear Tags are not sold separately to those that are not required to purchase a big game license.
